Frankly this thread is no where near as interesting or enjoyable to follow as it was a year ago. Very few posts actually have useful information in them anymore, and most of them warrant skimming. Now we have captain negative posting every 20 posts (not you Pitfall, you post every 10 posts and I actually read yours, nor…

naively asking what are "more attractive sets (even at full price)" ?

^Very interesting, I had no idea. Hindsight and all that...Thanks to the success of American Graffiti, Lucas was entitled to a salary of $500,000 for directing what was now being called simply "Star Wars". Instead of accepting the nearly 300% pay raise, George went to Fox with a proposition. He offered to keep his salary…

Unless @FollowsClosely is referring to everyone having their own system, which may works for some, but not all. For example, some people swear by buying small sets in bulk and turning them for a small profit but if they have 100 of them then to them it is a good way to do things, same with those buying large sets and…

I came out of my dark ages around 2007-2008, and could have easily bought a UCS MF while it was available. But at the time I thought only an insane person would pay more than $50 for a Lego set. How naive I was!

Hi, What will be the better set to collect? It seemed that both are very similar in style and feature, but the price different much. As I recall, they were sold at the exact same price. As for which is better to collect, is it just naive for me to think this is about playability, etc? No disrespect intended, but I don't…

I think it is quite naive to think all Lego sets will appreciate over time. There are plenty of sets which now sell on Ebay cheap as chips. Only some flagship models appreciate in price. Some other models do appreciate over time but almost as the same level as of inflation.Like everything else, Lego market has peaks and…

I respectfully disagree. Between knowing what to buy, when to buy, where to buy, how to buy, how much to buy, how to sell, where to sell, and when to sell, there are certainly people who know what they're doing more than others, and are what I would consider experts, myself included. Go over to the forum cesspool on…

I still wouldnt regard myself as an expert, but only because Im quite critical. I set myself targets. At present I am 3/4 of way in making Lego a living for me financially. But I wont class myself as an expert until its a complete living for me me, which I believe is possible. I bought 20+ GE's, which wont EOL until at…
