Got talking to a lady that I only see once or twice a year, and somehow the subject got round to LEGO. (I think I was reading Brick By Brick at the time.) Anyway, to cut a long story short, she said she was going to take a carrier bag full of LEGO to the charity shop so I gave her £10 as a donation and said I'd take it off…

I have given this subject a bit of thought as well and, on balance, I have to concur with you... I see that piece and immediately think of the ship in #6970, #885, #918, #924 and #928... Love it! :-)

Tr. Blue was introduced a year before #885, #886 & #891 were produced. Tr. Red, Tr. Green and Tr. Yellow had been around for about ten years by then. All of them would've been "appropriate" at the time.

6870, 6822, 6927, 6823, 897, 6844, 6847, 6871, 6842, 6880, 6821, 6971, 885, are sets my son is interested in. It would depend on whether they had all the pieces and where you are shipping from. So shoot me a PM if ya can. Thanks.

I can't really remember the exact set, but it was one of the early space series. I'm guessing one of these two given the simplicity of the build (I know I owned both of these): http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=885-1 http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6842-1

Hi, Like many people here, I played with LEGO as a child, but grew up and discovered other pursuits. However, now that I have twin five year old daughters, who have discovered the delights of building mad towers of bricks, I've sort-of caught the bug that a lot of people on here seem to have! It all started when we all…

Hi, Normally bit of a lurker as I'm a new AFOL just coming out of my dark age (rediscovered enthusiasm whilst collecting Lego Friends sets for my daughters). Posting this as I think there's some interesting sets I've picked up. Saw a advert for some old classic lego sets for £60, few boxed sets that looked like good…

Classic Space has it's 40th next year... so I'm going to "predict" (with all my wishful thinking circuits engaged) a very nearly block for block reissue of the #928 and a theme revival comprising of five other sets updated and expanded: #885 - Space Scooter #6821 - Shovel Buggy #6702 - Minifigure set with robots #6970 -…

Yes, they still sell. Not as much as during the olympics, but they still sell. A quick look at BL tells you that in the last six months, 885 complete (individual) sets have sold, plus 518 random packs. 46 boxes of 60 have sold. I didn't bother looking up minifigs without accessories. Even in February, 9 boxes of 60 were…

Hi, I'm a new member here, just signed up few days back, though I've been a Brickset member for a few years now :) I'm really a toy collector first and foremost with Lego being one of the toy series I've been collecting. Around 1979/1980, I bought my very first Lego set, the 885 Space Scooter with my saved up pocket money.…
