I won one about a year ago. I got set #8037 for free. I do the survey with a lot of the instructions I get so I don't know which set it was that won it for me.

The minifigure's crow bar tool can be used the same way. Back on topic, a click hinge canopy that wouldn't correctly. My 8037 Anakin Y-Wing has canopy that won't close right because of the click hinges. Personally I'm not a fan of the click hinge. It's a one trick pony that gets used in inappropriate ways.

Welcome! A complete DeathStar from a local thrift store was what got me back into LEGO, and it cost me under $80, so it CAN happen. Sadly, it sounds like you hit a bad lot. If you're looking for #8037 Anakin's Y-Wing let me know - I picked up a loose lot a couple of weeks ago with another one.

^ I think it's possible. I've seen a lot of product on the shelves at B&Ns. I found a couple of 8037 Y-Wing sets this past BF. What surprises me is that we haven't had a 40% off coupon at B&N yet this year (maybe there was one in early January, I don't recall). I swear these were popping out every other month last year.

Not that it is likely the norm but one of the WalMart stores I frequent put out a bunch of "new" inventory last night/ this morning. Including Bionicle, and old star wars sets like 8019 and 8037. Needless to say I bought what I could find but one of the reps said they are pushing an inventory cleaning clearance and getting…

I'm a UK AFOL and not only am I new to the Brickset Forum but new to Forums generally. I collect the odd set that takes my eye and build when inspired, which doesn't seem to happen often enough. I have a Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/colins-pics/ Anakins Y-Wing 8037 brought me out of my Dark Ages with alot of…

Thought this might be kind of interesting. In our many trips out to WalMart/ Target/ TRU etc have you encountered strange, old or otherwise out of place sets on the shelves? Just today at TRU I stumbled across: 6212 X-Wing Fighter (at $59.99) and Bricktober Forestman that rang up for $.01 (assume they were supposed to get…
