I just ordered a bunch of new tow ball parts (14417, 15456, 14704) to build some MOCs for my classic LEGO space, and discovered that these new parts are way too stiff when snapped together. The best example I can think of is the #3731 Pumpkin. The single-set model is unimpressive, but if you order two, you can make a cool 3-dimensional pumpkin. The polybag included instructions for the two-set model.

^ That could well be a contender! Would that kind of set have included any instructions, or was the box art a serving suggestion? Incidentally, just noticed that amongst the polybags, #3731 Pumpkin Pack is quite a large self-aligning one, and so is #30141 Jetpack if you discount the items in the minifigure's hands.
