    I can't get to my 10194 at the moment but I think that if the center wheel had a flange as well then it wouldn't fit between the 2 outer wheels as they are set close together.

    I do that for some NIB sets I buy on ebay. Bricklink has this information for most sets. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=10194-1, here it is....1420 grams.

    You could check out how #10194 is motorized as they are the most similar. It does not use the regular train motors, but a Technic XL-motor and the batteries should fit in the coal car.
