Hi, I have been browsing the forum for a little while and recently started posting, so thought I should introduce myself. As a kid in the 80s and early 90s I had a large collection of city Lego, and a smattering of other sets (classic space, forest men, pirates, Technic). Pirates was of great interest, but came along a bit…

When I actually had time to play with Lego, I enjoyed the mid-size sets that are really easy to swoosh around the room. Now that my time is more limited, I enjoy building the big sets that display really well. Here's an example of a great overall set: The latest Sandcrawler #75059 was a challenging build that looks…

Honestly, the box designation approach is not correct for UCS determination. The best indicator is still the "Plaque". As many of the confirmed SW UCS sets do not have Ultimate Collector Series (or Editions) showing on the box. The confirmed UCS sets that do not adhere to the Plaque rule have been the Sandcrawler #75059…

I don't know exactly what you mean. First of all, I don't understand how the ordinary Super Heroes branding is "cheap-looking". I think it's quite nice. But second, this packaging IS different from the regular Super Heroes packaging. Batman in the upper right corner has been redrawn in the costume exclusive to this set.…

A couple of months ago I picked up #75059 - Sandcrawler during it's last days on the shelve for the full RRP. Since the announcement I've mentioned it looks boring and has too many studs exposed and that it's just a brown blob after viewing pictures. Knowing LEGO Star Wars prices do increase I didn't want to take that risk…

^ Well said. In the 2000s to the early 2010s I purchased just about every large set available. I looked forward to the couple of sets that would come out. I have found that my purchases have remained steady, even though the number of large offerings has drastically increased. I have purchased the modular building every…

Has there been a confirmed piece count? I've been really excited for this ever since the model on Ideas hit 10k. The smaller version he made had 6700 pieces, if it's close to that it could be the largest set (piece count at least), which is what I'm hoping for. =) With the $350 it's hard to say where it would fall. The…
