2 weeks after passing my driving test and pestering the life out of my Dad to take me out for that supervised drive that would allow him to be confident to leave me with his car - he finally handed me the keys to go out on my own (he'd come back from the pub and was drunk when I asked). Everyone else in their Mam's Mini…

I have it kinda already centered up in the middle (In the google drive file is what i have so far with the 9 reindeers), tough i am not sure if the gear ratio is looking good, or that it will screw it up realy bad. Still need to order the parts to test it out in real life, but my budget for lego is gone this month and next…

I agree, although there's one fast way to find out. @Huw, would it take much to add a tab to a set's page to enable to upload a few of the newer more sensitive ones like #10240 or similar. We could test the water to find out just how sensitive TLG are about it without directly asking the question. If it doesn't take too…

Not sure if that will work but I can tell you to not put the pieces in the dryer afterwards, unless it is on low heat. I melted and warped about 1,000 pieces after buying a bulk purchase on Ebay. Apparently my dryer gets really hot. My point being is that if you do try that route be very careful not to get them too hot.…

@chrisalddin I feel your pain. One of my teachers tried to have me tested in middle school, but the school district said I got that far on my own so they weren't going to do it. Tried using a speak to type app and it's near impossible with my Chicago accent. Don't know how many times I had to rewrite a sentence because…

^^^^Agreed. Mine were in tubs in a dry basement for 20+ years and things still seemed to yellow. Mostly white, blue, grey, and red elements change color. Old black, yellow, and green are fine. Must be the type of dye used on the plastic pellets. Given the softer plastic being used in modern days, who knows how they will…

That's crazy Cortez - I've NEVER seen that with any of my new sets. I've picked up some pretty big models too from their recent lines and have never had cracked pieces or elements that don't align properly. I mean there's always the usual stuff with aligning cheese bricks correctly but nothing with actual production…

There's also a piece of software that will help you get the best deal from Bricklink - there's a thread about it floating around. It's still in testing though. http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/comment/305575 Can't help you for sure with the parts list from LDD, though - last time I seriously used LDD, the default…

I’ve been using the Light my Bricks kits that I’ve purchased from Oliver from Elegant Bricks. The install and instructions are easy to follow but sometimes tricky to get right but once you get one kit under your belt it gets easier. I think there are too many flashy lights but if you ask Oliver is often happy to swap them…

I have reason to believe that my Secret Santa gift has arrived at my house. Mostly because my wife just sent me a picture of the package. Many thanks, to whoever you are, as I am having a bit of a rough week at work. And now, for a test in patience...and to my Secret Santee, I am almost done (or am I?) with assembling your…
