I believe 4195 Queen Anne's Revenge actually is a reduced size box. I believe the size of the box is roughly on par with 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty, which has ~400 less pieces.

In the past month, I have watched a few used #6243 Brickbeard's Bounty, and the auction ending prices for very similar used models has varied from £37.21 to £119.90. What a really unusually large variance!

If you are building studs up, get some different sized slopes and mix them up a bit to make it look more random. Alternatively, go SNOT for more realism. See this tutorial for example: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=6243
