@560Heliport OK, thanks for that info. Technically, Canada is in North America. :) It explains why the only sets I see for sale here seem to be in Canada or made there.Now that I have #487 Space Cruiser and #497 Galaxy Explorer, I'd like to get #918 to complete the trio!

Welcome. Unfortunately, that looks like normal brick discoloration. I haven't built the 10212, but I have seen the exact same type of discoloration on other sets, including the older, minifig scale Imperial Shuttles.
