^That would explain why generally The Lord of the Rings sets seem to be better designed and more movie accurate than the Hobbit ones (IMO, anyway), as the designers would've been able to use the LOTR movies as part of their set design. Well, wooden plank stickers are especially heinous (e.g. An Unexpected Gathering #79003) because Lego already has nicely printed wooden planks (e.g. Haunted House #10228). Too bad they can't come up with a modern equivalent of old school model water decals. Those were nice because you had a few moments to align them… -

A microscale Minas Tirith actually seems fairly likely for a "large" and "expensive" D2C.
