   Damaging parts is normally not purist, so no.

   The part you want is something I requested in the "what parts do you wish TLG would make" thread. I suggested that the Technic 1/2 pin 4274 should have a version that is short on both ends. Could be quite useful and would probably work with your application, shame it's a dream
