Do the GITD Dead figures in #79008 compensate for the flick missiles...? If not, then the ship is Pirate in name only and not even in the running. -

I believe the bigger draw to the #9446 is the theme and the figures with it that are most of the draw and not the ship itself. Case in point:There is the #79008 Pirate Ambush from LoTR (which IMO looks like a far better representation of a junk) which is still rather affordable despite being out of production for some time. -

#79008 was available for $88 for some time at large chain store here in Australia. Currently selling for $200+ including shipping on eBay AU. 79008 LOTR Pirate Ship is an interesting set. Licensed pirate ships can do incredibly well. But something about it just doesn't stand out to me. Can't quite put my finger on it. @madforLEGO makes a very good point. Personally, I think it's #79008 that's the outlier, rather than the concept of a junk. Then again, ship collectors might not even think to look in the Ninjago theme; Destiny's Bounty, in both incarnations, are to the Pirate Ambush ship as the Sea Cow is to the ships from the various… -
