How about the initial price of the Atari 2600 in 1977 at $199. With inflation that's around $750. Than if you include the cost of the game cartridges from initial release and the years to follow, it sure was expensive. -

I'm seeing a lot of unloading on eBay of older HP sets. There's no flood, but the usual trickle has at least doubled. The most recent Castle #4842, after hitting a peak of $750 has sunk to less than $500. I think soon you'll see small sets like Forbidden Forest and Freeing Dobby lose half their value. Now is a good time to sell the Black Pearl but I think there is still plenty of time for it to go higher. I think the introduction of a pirate theme will actually strengthen the desire to get the older pirate themed ships. To each there own I guess, I personally think it's pretty nice. I think it has a lot of things working in it's favor. It's focused on Hoth (which is a favorite among many fans), it includes a high amount of minifigures which are nice including a cool Tauntaun, it features a bacta tank which I don't think I have seen…
