I believe LEGO has modified its dark red in recent years. But I don't believe Bricklink identifies it as a separate color like old gray vs. bluish gray.

It has a 6177 in dark red (not cheap!) and the only available flexible H's are likely to sell out quite fast.

Wow just looked on Bricklink... 6177 ain't cheap! I may have to substitute that part! Re other parts I am happy to play the long game and spend a year of so collecting parts..

Rather than the use of a 4 stud sized curved piece the alternative is to use single stud bricks. That actually works well because the resulting lines between the pieces fits the look of the Chestburster body. But the alternate build for the 6177 piece doesn't depict pooling blood very well. I would get it while you can.

I've got all the parts for the alternate blood pool, plus a spare 6177 so bear that in mind.

Hi Steve. It would be a private sale so message me if interested. When I Bricklinked the Chestburster I bought a number of spares. I have a spare 6177 disc because one went missing in the post from Australia but turned up weeks later.

I got my 6177 disc yesterday (it arrived in the mail, one of several shipments out there, its #2 of #5). I was surprised how translucent it was. I was expecting it to be a darker Dark Red. It's not regular red, just not the thick, luscious quality I was expecting. I wonder if that was a psychological expectation based on…
