To me, ironically, the shift in design from "classic" Castle to something else came in 1990 with sets such as 6081. Of course, others might suggest the shift came in 1984. I think it really depends upon when you grew up. :) -

I'm all for lego castles, however, I would prefer it if they start to go back to classic lego pieces and/or styles.
