As the title suggests, I am looking for any opinions on these two sets. I have read the reviews and am still undecided. In Australia, I can get either set new, the 10240 for $270 and the 9493 for $170. For the prices I have given which would you buy?? Thanks Michael

^ agreed. I think I have every X-wing except the first UCS one and of the system ones #9493 is really well done, but #10240 is just magnificent in comparison.

Assuming you can afford either, then spend the extra $100 and get the Red Five - it's an absolutely epic model. I'm sitting here looking at it now, and it's superb. Nothing wrong with 9493, but 10240 just knocks it out of the park.
