A new one is coming out in 2013...Horizon Express....probably going to be another classicly designed train....but this will only drive up demand for 10194 as they will look very nice together.

I agree, but not due to Steam Vs diesel, it is Maersk and Maersk is always desirable it seems I think that the #10219 Maersk will pass the #10194 EN, or at least catch up to it, by end of the year.

Re-reading old post from this thread makes me laugh, but also make me cry when I am reminded of the sets I didn't pull the trigger on ( #10194, #10210...)

Just remember this time last year when every man and his dog where stocking up on 10194 during TRU's plentiful B1G1 sales and we had warnings that this set would never perform due to massive hoarding......it doubled in price the day it went EOL. In short resellers will not ever be able to buy enough stock to outstrip…

I remember back in the heyday when sales at
[email protected] included exclusives such as the Imperial Flagship #10210 for about $125, the Emerald Knight #10194 for around $65, and the B-Wing #10227 for $100. One of my favorite all-time deals from
[email protected] was getting a couple Technic Front Loader #8265 sets for under $40 each. I really love…

I have to admit I like #10214 (the Tower Bridge), but I am surprised at how long it's remained available (almost 5 years now). To put things into perspective, it came out the same year as the #10210 Imperial Flagship and the year after the #10194 Emerald Night...both of which are now long gone. I'm still on the fence as to…

The last time I felt strongly about the aftermarket viability of a set (or should I say sets) was the Emerald Night #10194 and the Imperial Flagship #10210. I remember distinctly thinking when both were released as new sets that they would do extremely well post-EOL. Many other sets also did well, but specifically these…

I went through the few couple pages and pulled a few gems, all are from October/November 2011... Note: This is not to poke fun at anyone, it's just funny how the conversations have evolved... the writing seems to be on the wall for Fire Brigade. TRU has pulled it off their site completely, my local LEGO store has been out…

I believe the peak of purchasing Lego for reselling purposes occurred in the 2010-2011 timeframe. Some of the sets that come to mind include: #8683 Series 1 Collectable Minifigures - These were the first CMFs released...and for $1.99 each no less. The ROI on these in sealed condition is now in the 10X-15X range. #8684…
