It seems this thing comes in version 1 and version 2. But lego.com only sells version 1...which seems very strange to me. https://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Power-Functions-IR-Receiver-8884 "This item is Version 1. Version 2 is not available for individual sale." Does anyone know what's up with that??

Hi all Just after 1 8884 IR receiver and a 8883 M-Motor. Looking at around £15 for both items. Hope someone has a spare on both items. Cheers

Anyone tell me exactly what I need to motorise the winter train 10264. On the instructions it says to get 8884, 88000, 88002 and 8879. I know these are retired but I’m not sure which to get. I’m not sure which is which. I’m not bothered about the remote as I think you can use an iPhone to control, even then as long as it…

@benbacardi To motorize the train, I'd recommend Power Functions #88000, #88002, #8884, and #8879. All in stock at Lego.com this morning. The Powered Up battery box appears to have a blue-tooth receiver built in, but I don't see it listed for sale as a separate part. It looks like the connectors are incompatible between…

The back of the box (#10254) indicates what you need: - #8879 IR Speed Remote Control - #8884 IR Receiver - #88000 AAA Battery Box - #88002 Train Motor As other have pointed out, it is probably a better deal to get one of the current City trains: #60051, #60052, #60098 (the first two are usually on discount). You will get…
