from another middle aged bloke rediscovering lego vicariously as a parent. Got the old technic lego out of the loft last week with the start of the summer holidays, the car chassis set #853, new in 1977, rebuilt with my 6 year old, great fun had by all..... she's got lots of Lego Friends as well (over 20 sets) but is also…

Hard to decide between #912 in 76 or 77 and #853 in 78.

Call up LEGO (800 853 4386) stickers are not on the web, they will want a number from the back of the instructions book to prove you bought the set.

Had some fun making this a while ago: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/426882 A smaller #853 with studless pieces. Works the same way as the original.

1. #853 Car Chassis 2. #42070 6x6 All Terrain Tow Truck 3.#41999 4x4 Crawler Exclusive Edition because I absolutely love power function, technic, and exclusivity all rolled into one set.

I am a vehicle design engineer by trade and this combined with the time spent playing with LEGO Technic resulted in an idea for a new Technic…

Flagships do well, #8043 for example, but #8069 and #8070 have both done badly, still selling below RRP. #8109 is doing better at 1.5xRRP. Technic is very hit and miss, just like other themes, and the only way to make a good ROI is to buy cheap. Sports bikes like #8420 do well. #8051 was regularly available for £12 at…

I traveled into Technic history today. First, I went back 17 years thanks to @ecmo47, I got the last pieces missing for my #8462 Tow Truck. Despite the studded look, those were good days where sets like that had metal hook and 2 air tanks and looked finished. Sad that can't even put one air tank in sets like the #8110…
