   I meant the lego branded ruler 852759-1. I do use my penknife to open the boxes I must admit.

   @Tkatt There are 5 available to buy on Bricklink if you are really interested (part no.852759) Also the dimensions it measures from Brickipedia: Height: 1-10 Bricks high, Length: 1-20 studs long, Technic Beam: 1-15 studs long and Technic Axle: 2-12 studs long. It also has a hole for hanging the ruler up.

   Just like to say "DITTO" to the above comments, I have 9 x 48 litre tubs filled with loose Lego, (I have sorted it by colour but not by size/ shape etc. In hindsight this is proberly a mistake!).
