Race Truck (8041) for $35.98 (40% off) is good I believe. I haven't been tracking sales on that one.

Recently? #8041 and #42041. There IS a difference, but only in the colour of a hidden part or two - and you might get something like that during the lifetime of a set anyway.

Like I said before, all Lego had to do was say the set was a Limited Edition like the 8041 Race Truck and that was it.. When it sold out, it sold out... No way were as many people going to invest 100's if not 1,000's of dollars without knowing the actual stats...

Don't forget though, that the same happened with the H1 techincs sets; #42041 was a straight re-release of #8041 , so this is far from unprecedented. As for the the motives? Who knows. Overstock from the first time round? Want to help people who missed it last time? Trying to intentionally disrupt the re-selling market?…
