Thank you. Love the photo with the #7745 train. I had never heard of that one before.

Interesting! I'm somewhat tempted to get this one too, though I don't actually have room for it... I decided not to get trains, because if I get this.. I'll want to get the Horizon Express and the Emerald Night and ... hey, at least I still have my #7745 ... :D

One of the more interesting variations in LEGO boxes would be the 12V Train System sets in the 1980s (gray track era). Some of the smaller sets and spare parts packs come in a global version, with 9 languages written on the box top, such as the 7866... Woah, there! I'm not sure what country you're in, but have you tried calling? I called just last month to inquire about stock and spoke with a nice woman over the phone. I was surprised myself that anyone answered, but they did! 1-540-298-7745 I'm not sure I'd panic just yet. ;-)

This scenario was used on the 12v train set 7745. It used 3 wires ( the length of each car ) to do the same thing you are talking about. You should have no more than .1 ohm of resistance per connection. Led lights take very little to run, you will have more recharging because of the lights, but not much.

I would agree that the only thing that seems lacking about the HE is that Lego has been doing bullet trains ever since the #7745 and the Super Chief was just very different from the norm. The bullet train thing almost seems like the police station/fire station thing. I will add though that I did like the HE. I thought it…

I was lucky enough to receive #6990 space monorail as my parents won some money in a newspaper competition, but I still wanted a lot of the other larger Futuron and Blacktron sets such as #6392 and the Blacktron base #6987 Also anything train related - I has #7730 and later got #7745, but so much pocket money went on track…

Top 5 12v train sets (influenced by a heavy dose of nostalgia) 1. #7740 InterCity - Original and best, the flagship of the initial wave was a massive leap forward in design, with loco and coaches in distinctive red and yellow livery 2. #7760 Shunter - classy and endearing little standalone model, not really done since 3.…
