Lukes X-Wing 75301 $49.99 is on sale for $39.99 Tie Fighter 75300 is $31.99

I think it's remarkable that the garden-variety humble retail set X-wing 75301 which you can easily get for $40 in 2022 is better than the top-tier MOC X-wings that I admired on Brickshelf in 2002, in most of the ways that mattered to me in 2002. So just owning set 75301 is better than having a top-tier X-wing MOC in 2002.…

I shopped with grandma‘S money for my 6year old nephew...his first SW sets: tie fighter 75300 x wing 75301 from my storage: yoda’s hut 75208

@EGRoberts I bought three of #75218- two at RRP, the third at 30% off. It's excellent. I have one (so far!) #75301, and it's also excellent. At 30 USD cheaper, I think it's better. The wing mechanism is the best yet.

I don't mind "color-locked" Technic parts: look at the instructions for the wing mechanism of #75301, and imagine trying to build it if all the parts were the same color! I also like Technic parts in System sets, and vice versa! It's all LEGO, and ought to be compatible.

#75301 and #75300 give me hope that we could get another minifig-scale TIE Bomber. #7146 had 171 pieces for $20 in 2001, #7263 had 159 pieces for $20 in 2005, and #4479 had 230 pieces for $30 in 2003. With #75300 having 432 pieces for $40 now, I extrapolate a TIE Bomber with around 600 pieces for about $60. And put it in…

There are several more new parts in the latest Star Wars sets that we couldn't see. You can see them in the Brothers Brick review: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2020/12/03/lego-star-wars-75301-luke-skywalkers-x-wing-fighter-75300-imperial-tie-fighter-review/ I think the most interesting one is the 1x1 brick with an axle…

Lately I've been building from my small stash of loose parts, mostly from childhood and from my brother, rather than buying. This week I put together a pretty decent impression of a Blacktron Invader, a nearly complete 462 Rocket Transport with just enough tweaks to fix the problems in the actual set, without it being the…

I originally built #75301 Luke's X-Wing as per the instructions, with one minor twist, inverting the guns to move the dishes forwards. Then I tried Ninjabricks/Hylian Wolf's MOC, and now I'm rolling it back closer to stock. I have kept the top cover, red engine detailing and inlet T along with the thicker body midsection…
