I'd like to see #6954 Renegade modernized like #928/#497, but I don't think it would be any cooler... just newer. IIRC, I bought mine from the Kmart a block from my grandparents' house in May of 1987, using either birthday or graduation money.

@dvaupel - Here's verification that the #6954 Renegade also came with black/trans-yellow hoses. This is a photo of a 6954 with sealed bags that I bought secondhand. The hoses are in the center bag. The set came with a 1987 U.S. catalog (BL# c87us) and had "Hills" (defunct regional U.S. department store) price tags on its…

The black 10x10 angled plates are also in #6986, and the landing gear are in #6941. Given the absence of any of the multiple printed slopes used in #6954, I don't think that set is there.

This is classic story of my son hitting 5 and going to pull out my old childhood legos and finding out they are worth a decent amount.
