Hello guys, first post on this site and im really excited about it! I've recently started collecting Lego and I'm really enjoying it. The other day I bought a Lego 6891 Gamma-V Laser craft in MIB condition. The box is in excellent condition, the pieces are still sealed in the original plastic bags and the instructions were…

I built this old space set today. It looks like the first attempt at 6891 which wasn't considered good enough. They even used the same numbers (re-arranged) when they did put this one out. By the way, can anyone think of a name for it? I'd feel silly calling it "unknown".

6891 was called "Dark Star" in the UK. So the name at least might have been inspired by the film.

What is the definition of "Classic Space" as it applies here? "Neo-Classic Space" seems to be used to describe MOCs based on only the earliest Space sets, e.g. #497 and #897. It seems Brickset's database categorizes everything before factions (e.g. pre-Blacktron) as "Classic", e.g. #6891 and #6980.

Been sorting through a box of Classic Space sets from FB Marketplace ($75). From what I've found, missing less than 60 pieces in total for 20 sets. Several smaller ones, but some larger ones, too - #6930, #6971, #6891, #6941, #6954, #6985, and #6926.

#6891 Gamma V Laser Craft - From the school of thought “let’s put as many cool words together as will fit” #6940 Alien Moon Stalker - cool but slightly creepy #6877 Vector Detector- just rolls off the tongue! #6416 Poolside Paradise - makes me feel like I’m on vacation already

Looks like we're talking stickers now, but if you need more data points here are some photos from set #6891: Helmet has a thick chin strap with dimples. The set is from 1985. (I happened upon a stash of 70's and 80's unopened bags a couple of years ago. Had a blast figuring out which bags belonged to which set.)
