I was just at my local Walmart and it has the basic building set 5749 marked at $15 in a large display by the seperate christmas toy aisles. It is a 650 piece basic set, nothing fantastic but quite a few pieces for the money. It's listed at $49.99 at LEGO.

I have found them :) Morrisons of all places, they also had a few small sets. Asda had the 5749 for £9, pink/ blue boxes £10.

I remember when they had #5749 2(?) years ago and I grabbed one for me and the Duplo version for my friend's son. That boy is 4 now and this seems like a great start to his collection.

Found 2 stray 5749 "Creative Building" boxes at Walmart still priced at $15 (Black Friday Lego deal) 5 days after Thanksgiving. I passed on trying to find it on Black Friday, avoiding the madness. There were 2 on the shelf, One was resealed so I left it behind.

I got $40034 Xmas train, #30151 bull dozer, #30181 Creator heli, #6867 Cosmic Cube, #9349 Education fairy tale minifig set, #5749 basic brick set, #70704 Vermin Vaporizer and #10220 VW Camper.. oh the Lego calendar.
