It’s #5580. See the license plate?

I’d love to see Model Team to return. Specifically set #5580

Just found another interesting pair of sets that changed boxes. The MODEL TEAM 5580 Highway Rig Set was sold from 1986-92. It appears that from 1986 until 1989 it was sold in this box design... Then from 1990 until 1992 the 5580 was sold with this box design, before being discontinued. It appears that Model Team sets (1986…

Just finished an eblay purchased #5580. The instructions back then were a bit more challenging than more recent sets. Now that our BL orders are in we can get back to building the alternate build of set #42000 and also set #5885.

One of the sets I wanted most as a kid was the #5580 Model Team Highway Rig. At the time it seemed so big but by today's standards it's relatively small. I also really liked the #5550 Custom Rally Van. Was also very jealous that my cousins had #6285 Black Seas Barracuda.

Dust isn't a huge issue as this is my basement. Because it's down below, that also keeps out sunlight. I have a 5580 that has been built since I bought it 20 years ago that I've only had to dust once and when I compare the white bricks to new ones it doesn't seem to have faded even a little bit.

Most of my older sets creak, late 80's-early 90's, when I put them together, there doesn't seem to be any cracking issues. All of my sets are stored in my basement year round and rarely get upstairs and some have been assembled since new, #5580 and #5590. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's probably the plastic aging.

My latest brag is as follows 4531 4532 4559 4552 6036 6709 1752 6555 6090 5580 All for £100. Need to go through it and check on parts etc and to see if electrics work. Plus got a load of random block in 2 other boxes. Well happy and glad i followed up on the guy, he was a bit elusive and took forever to pin down. Shame…

Hello, I'm a 29 years old boy from a small town in Hungary. I've been enthusiast of LEGO ever since I can remember. I loved to build LEGO sets with my elder brother during all my childhood and our best creations included steam locomotive with tender, supercar, helicopter hauler and overland bus. The biggest one was an…
