From the 1970s - the #391 (1926 Renault) and #392 Formula One car. Saw #392 at last years Great Western Lego Show with a large scale version - brought back memories!!

I chose it by thinking back to the oldest stuff I own from childhood and remembered the weird ladder from #392 Fire Engine.

392 Formula 1 racer... still have the instructions and the model...stickers are long gone and the original bricks have alot of my dental imprints on them.

I found this site when I was trying to find the value of my old 392 Formula 1 model. I also started buying Technic sets (thought they seemed more "grown up"). Brickset info and reviews definately sparked more interest. Castle lego was something i always wanted as a kid and then I saw Alien Conquest...

Ah, I thought those maxifig heads had been reused for the figs TLG put in 80's "Junior" sets like #330-1 and #392-3. Thanks @CCC for posting that picture and proving me wrong. The fig @FamilyOf4 posted co-existed with this one throughout the 80's in the "Junior" sets: TLG was using a more basic version of this fig in Duplo…

I can also add that my old 392 forumla 1 racer doesnt hold together like it used to. But mostly due to being pulled apart and rebuilt a million…

It's ironic that some of the sets that folks here love... would not necessarily become big money makers (as has been proven with the legends sets). Some of my favorite old time sets were the Hobby sets of the mid to late 70s (390, 391, 392, 393, 394, 395, 396, 398)... these are sought after today... but were considered…

I have no clue why someone would pass on this set... it's the rarest of the 1975-80 Hobby Sets, and until the remake of it came out in 2003 (#10021), it was going for over $1000 in MISB. This set was only sold in Europe and Australia... never USA or Canada. And because it came out at the very time that the Hobby Sets were…
