Set #10312 Jazz Club's manual has a printing error: once you reach the end of bag 12, there are a few steps that you won't be able to complete without opening bag 13. Luckily all the pieces are there, but the instruction to open bag 13 is at step 334 instead of 332.

Other very rare (unbroken) rare pieces include the turning arms and baseplates for trucks such as #332 and #333. Also vintage hinges (unbroken) esp the 2 x 8 ones; and even the old 10 x 20 x 1 grey bases (before they had a line of hollow studs along the perimeter). (the ones that came with sets through out the '60s; we had…

To subvert the question a bit, these are the 3 sets I have but wish I didn't have: #7190 - brought during the dark ages (almost a mid life crisis :)) but its a mess of colours, could easily have been a lot better with a few minor changes and is difficult to make decent alternate builds from #918 - reminds me of how much I…

Gosh, when I was a kid, we didn't have many Lego sets such as mentioned through out this thread; Space Lego, Technics, even the humble minifig post date my childhood. We certainly received sets of Lego; Various 'Basic' sets; My brother received a battery operated train back in '69. I received the train station 342 I have…

After looking through some of my stuff I've got '61/'62, '64 and '66 versions of the Samsonite idea books. I got a some sets in storage and another stack of paper somewhere to still to look through. I've been doing a massive reorganization of my instructions, so sometimes finding stuff isn't the easiest at the moment. What…

There are far worse ratios than that, where the set was easily available and cheap or a giveaway. A high Owned/wanted ratio (or low wanted/owned ratio) is not necessarily a sign of a crappy set. For example: polybags such as #30264 2552/332 (ratio 7.69), #30265 3621/255 (14.2). Even some decent games like Minotaurus score…
