I was not even in Brickset when I came across this... I was doing a general Google search... and came across this very interesting discovery..... :) In the Brickset database is this very much unknown set.... The 271 number had been used twice by TLG... once in 1961-65 by a Policemen Accessories set only sold in Denmark,…

Just received my #271 and was duly frightened/amused to learn that they hired one of the twins from The Shining for the box art photoshoot. It's not the first time a human being on LEGO box art, catalogues or instructions has spooked me. Thought maybe others may enjoy chipping in with examples?

@comicblast. For curiosities sake; have you read all 271 pages of this thread?

Bummer.... the odds were that it is a 1960-62 set made in Denmark, and the sticker would likely have reflected that. Is your 271 set a LEGO Traffic Police Set? (Or a Homemaker furniture set) The 271 Traffic Police Set is very rare... and only sold in Denmark, Norway and Netherlands.

Hi all. I have some spare parts that I got and would like to sell or trade them off rather than just having them sitting in a box at home. They are all new. I have these: 1 x 8 White Tile x 19 1 x 8 Red Tile x 27 1 x 1 Dark Green x 271 1 x 2 x 5 White Brick x 24 1 x 2 Tan Brick x 68 1 x 3 Light Bluish Grey x 68 And I'm not…

So I was having a Lego conversion the other day with a friend of my dad's and his son. The son is a big Lego fan and knows I have a good sized collection and that I have some early sets. I mentioned that I had a 271 Police set. After showing them a picture (neither knew what I was talking about) the son asked what the…

I can fly to NYC and back *today* for $271 and get one for free. Maybe I should take orders and do that. ;)

I have always wondered why the 1271/271 Policemen Accessories sets were only sold in Denmark, Norway and Netherlands. The earlier 1271 version was introduced in late 1956 in Denmark and Norway, but may have been discontinued temporarily by 1958... Then in mid 1961 they reappear in the catalogs of Denmark, Norway and…

The original set averages 271 pieces per building. That's a bit large for a polybag, even if the pieces are mostly small. And I'm no longer concerned about users of the Brickset forums obtaining more LEGO. We all have enough children's toys. How much do LEGO designers earn? And what are the benefits beyond the salary?

You own 276 sets, 271 different. We have piece counts for 266 of them. You own 76207 pieces. We have retail prices for 220 of them. Their retail value is $7561. Not as much retail as I thought, but I have really been slacking the last year or so on how many new sets I buy. I would say that my loose parts for MOCs is likely…
