   I just want to let you know that the 48x48 baseplate is 2.25 times the size of the 32x32s, 48x48=2304 studs 32x32=1024 studs 2304/1024=2.25 You would think that the larger baseplate would be a better deal than the smaller one. It's also unfortunate that you can't buy at retail all the available colours.

   @LegobrandonCP & @sidersdd, here's my version. It uses 327 parts in total, vs 2304. Buying these tiles from shop.lego.com would cost only £33.43. Doing the same thing with 1x1 plates would cost £138.24!

   If you're using Duplo, the best baseplate to use for the table would be the green Duplo baseplates #2304. They are big, so you probably won't need many (4?). The biggest advantage is that the blocks will clutch the Duplo baseplates much better than they will normal Lego baseplates.

Regular price on #2304 big green duplo baseplate is $10.48 vs S@H at $14.99 At Target mainly for storage bins Who do they think they are? TRU? The tiny number in the corner of the sticker is how much of a percentage discount…

   @stlux Thanks for the link, some impressive facts and figures in that article. Can't believe how many motors went into it (2304 for those who haven't looked). The logistics in connecting that lot together, with enough torque to move the bulk of the car without shredding gears or twisting axles is a seriously impressive…
