Well the Norwegian Bedford trucks (Tanker Truck #1250, Barrel Truck #1251, Barrel Trailer #1252)... have the unique to Norway "ESSO" decals. The common decals would be either "ESSO EXTRA MOTOR OIL" or "BENZIN ESSO SMOROLIE" worth about $25-$100 each. So Norwegian trucks with just "ESSO" would be worth about $500 each...… -

One of the earliest country specific bricks were these 1x1 round Esso Oil Drum bricks (with smooth base) that date to 1955-56 from Denmark. These were only found in the Esso Accessories Spare Parts Pack 1247 (also sold in Norway and Sweden, but without these Esso Oil Drum bricks). These very rare bricks had an Esso sticker… -

The very first LEGO promo set was from 1955, when among the first of the Town Plan 1:87 scale Bedford trucks...#1250-#1257. Among them were an Esso Tanker Truck #1250 and Esso Barrel Truck #1251. 1955 was the first year that the 8 different Bedford vehicles were introduced, and the windows in all of these trucks were clear… -

I didn't want to start a new thread on this... but modern minifigs aren't the only thing that is coming up for sale as fakes. Here we have a Swiss seller who made fake 1955-58 Esso Oil Drums (1x1 round bricks from the 1950s with a LEGO sticker attached).... and is selling them on Ebay...… -

Ah yes bobabricks.... those very expensive Esso Oil Drums.... hehehehe.... They were produced in Denmark for the (1955-57) 1247 Esso Service Parts Packs (3 drums) and the 1251 Esso Barrel Truck (2 drums). They are known in 4 flavors... For 1x1 early style round bricks... at up to 100 Euros each (depending on condition)...…
