that would mean 1 or 2 pieces would break on average in a 100 pieces set, which would probably cause a massive outrage. the few cracked pieces I noticed on sets having not been played with so far amount to less than 1 in 10000.

   Wandering round a Carboot sale today I spot a grey box laying on the grass.. Its a sealed 10000 Guarded Inn set..box has a crush to one end but its still sealed..£1! All the Lego "dealers" have walked past it..and its not even my birthday!

   The way I look at it is if you are lucky enough to buy an exclusive polybag at regular retail or get one with a purchase then great.     OK, so here's some crude SQL that's generated the attached list of set numbers less than 10000 that are not allocated, but which are surrounded by ones that are. It took 16 seconds to run. I could run it to find those < 88004 if it provides what the OP is after, as a one off, although I fail to see that it provides…
