So his is a difficult question, because I don't always agree with the Samsonite dates in all the online databases.... but my guess would be the fall 1965 releas of the 671 piece... 004…

That's an interesting point although I don't think that would be an issue. The flanges are conical and the 'grooves' are the layer thickness which is 0.2mm/0.008" in this print.
