I think the re-issues are a great thing for several reasons:

I'm one of those collectors that likes (or is it needs!) to keep all the boxes for the sets I buy. The very first set I bought coming out of my dark ages was 6212 - X-Wing and I cannot find the box…

1. Get the 6212 X-Wing (another great set with an excellent mini-figure assortment) and swap out Leia's parts.

I'll admit I haven't checked, but I think it was available from ~2002 to ~2008. It is probably the longest available new set ever.
