Why would that be a piss take? $800 is ~£620, plus VAT makes it £744. So if it is $800 in the US, £700 is a bargain and £750 is about right.

My fastest profit was on a sealed Galaxy Explorer #497 set. I bought it two years ago for $300 on Ebay and sold it a week later for $750.

@Niels_T .... did you mean the 750, 751, 752 sets? Those LEGO Architectural sets (not Modulex) came with just regular LEGO plates and bricks.

Look at the bright side...TLG could have sold the Bat-Pod as a set and had a drawing for only 750 UCS Tumblers. Now that would be bad!

@ryjay for 2x4 bricks you used to be able to buy a box of 750 for about 60 bucks (was a very good option) BUT they ended that, and as far as I know there are no other options to buy bulk (direct from Lego) in the US.
