I would absolutely buy a Castle Neuschwanstein set, even if it was 6000 pieces and £350. I love that castle, and would love to build it as a set. Mind you, even if Lego did do it, it wouldn't be as good as this MOC.

Yep, fair comments. I would say though that if they released a new 10144 sized one it is gonna sell shed loads more than a 5-6000 piece model. But you are right, they are very different things.

only 4000 pieces? expected over 5000, maybe 6000 with all those easter eggs details. also I don't really get why sharing pictures is a such a big deal, but whatever, must be some weird stuff about capitalism...

I assume the version on Peeron is the US version (edit: confirmed, the back page says "Enfield, CT")-- quite likely that other countries had different names. But here's the scan: http://www.peeron.com/scans/6000-1/2 DaveE

The bidding on this #10179 seems just a little OTT... £5600 - used and discoloured: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAR-WARS-Lego-UCS-Set-10179-Huge-Ultimate-Millennium-Falcon-RRP-RARE-6000-/172484499311?hash=item2828e0976f:g:5oEAAOSwjDZYd~C6

Hello one and all. I'm an AFOL...really a bit of a toy collector in general- toys from the early 80's mostly. Transformers, GI Joe, Muscles, Go-bots, video games...I tend to go on streaks of getting into one specific toy line from my childhood for a few years and then proceed to spend entirely too much time and money on…

I still have soft spot for Bill and Marry. It makes my day when I see them in MOCs. I ended up getting #6000 for my kid and after paging through it countless times, he now shares the same fondness for these two minifigs.

I don't know if it's rare per se, but the oldest 'set' set I have is 107-3 "Reversible Power Unit" from 1968. In terms of something that I actually 'value', I have a pristine 6000 "Legoland Idea Book" with all stickers intact. Love that book :)

Tonight on TBS (US) a Lego Millennium Falcon was featured on "Your Family or Mine". It was all off though. It was supposed to be a 6000 piece Millennium Falcon that 2 brothers had built in 1990. The MF was obviously a system scale MF with a lot more pieces thrown in, but we all know there wasn't an official set made in…

^That store has a lot count of 2700. I know some stores are in the 6000 lot range. To get to that kind of number you generally need to do used parts and some do "gear" as well. The best stores as far as finding what you want generally have a good mix of both number of parts and lots.
