Not me. Although i did just grab a 8293 power functions set from there so thanks for the link.

Without more detail on his needs, I'd suggest #8293 Motor Set since it's generic and should be readily available. Not too expensive either.

So far these have sold: 10236, 8293, 76021, 5002812, Queen, Ballerina, Spooky boy. Thanks guys, still looking for homes for the rest if you're interested :)

It's been a while since I thought about the EN train. I picked up power functions set #8293 . Is this all I need to convert EN when the time comes?

It is a shame that it doesn't use the battery box from the Power Functions Motor Set (8293), since it uses the M-Motor, but I suppose that box would be a bit unwieldy in a set like this.

@BuilderMom, if you just want power function (battery box, IR controller and receiver), you can consider some of the trains (#3677, #7938, #7939), builds are easier than most Technic and a nice introduction to power functions. If you really want to go Technic, my advice would be #9395 + #8293, it has instructions to add…

@Hob #8881 battery pack is still available and comes in #8293 power functions set with the M-motor so I presume that would work with other motors. Uses 'aa' batteries instead of the 'aaa' batteries.

Just picked up #8293 Power Functions Kit. Having a play about with it to get familiar with how it works. Would like to have my Orange VW Camper have working lights and movement. Will probably be picking up extra Power Functions to do this.

He's obviously not familiar with Power Functions in this review - he goes and gets a Power Functions set #8293 and describes #8881 as a "motor". Also I feel it should be possible to route the lighting cables in a more concealed manner. But this & his other video show off the model well.
