#6399 Airport Shuttle. Though I will always have a soft spot for sets #6607 and #6606 as they were I think the first sets I got (or at least remember playing with) Not sure what my 'modern' pick would be though.

chuxtoybox good luck on your layout. I sure do love the lego trains. Probably because I always wanted them as a kid but mom could never afford them. She did however save for 2 years to get me #6399. It was and still is my most treasured set.

I think my most expensive retired set has to be 5378 Hogwarts Castle NISB for 300 Euro shipped. Sold a few #4842 and #10217 to get to black figures quite quickly. Got a second NIsB #10210 IF about a year ago for 250€ so this could actually be put in the brag thread, me thinks. Minifigurewise i splashed 100€ on a sealed…

@MattsWhat yes that is a gorgeous set. However, it has limited playability unless you build it into an extensive space landscape with lots of bases to be connected. Like the 6399 which is my MOST WANTED! :-)

Seems like #60097 would be best motorized using #6399 monorail parts. Adding power functions with powered trucks to this tram would, in my opinion, look silly. Not to mention far from the look of the prototype tram in your picture. It would make the tram sit far too high.
