    Hi guys, I'm 45, my first set was #483, wow, Lego has come a long way ! After helping my kids with some sets (latest was #7965) I thought I want one for my birthday. I like the buildings, but not much the modular (loved my daughter #31026, but I want something bigger). I would prefer something you can open, like the #10229…

    Not eligible for the #10220 VW camper van or the #42053 Volvo EW160 excavator. Does work on the #42039 race car though.

    The GP racer should look cool besides the new Le Mans racer coming out next year #42039 They have the same scale.

    Thanks for the info @BrickDancer! Is that 20% off instore only? I'm not seeing anything on their website, #42039 is still showing as $129.99 on their site. There are a couple of city items I will go pick up if it is instore only.

I have only dipped my toes in the Technic theme, with #42039 24 Hours Race Car and I found that I really enjoyed it. It's a completely different experience to "standard" LEGO and should be viewed as such, I think.

    VERY disappointed with the changes to the 42039 set from the early pictures... One funny thing is that I bought LT1 emblems from RKsport for my Camaro back in the 90's that look identical(Font-wise) to the LT1 stickers on the motorcycle...

    ^ same here...we must have been trying at the same time. I had it working...then when paying thru Paypal and I noticed $40+ added to the total. Now it doesn't work. Was gonna buy the Tecnic 24HR Race Car #42039 for $88 too.

    I have yet to dip my toe in the Technic theme and will probably do so with #42039 24 Hours Race Car soon, as I am a big fan of Le Mans and GT racing. This set looks absolutely fantastic and I may well find myself buying this at some point in the future, even though the price is sky-high.

    Received today #42039 24 Hours Race Car, #60052 Cargo Train and #60051 High-Speed Passenger Train from Amazon UK. They should been here sooner if not for a mix-up at one of the hub.
