It's not just the height but the scale. The first floor of the HQ is about 13 bricks tall while the first floor of a modular is 10 bricks tall. Also, it's a narrow building but is 20 studs wide vs. 16 studs wide for a narrow modular. The scale is close in numbers, but the difference is enough that for me it just looks…

@bmwlego...got my invite a couple days ago(i'm 8 of 16 invites). Let anyone in ILUGNY know if they want to come down to the Queens Center Mall store with me...we can partaaaaaaaaay! I like the new scratch cards off the entire purchase. Last year, in my local shop it was a scratch % off one item only.

I had to bump some of the orders up a little to meet the minimum spend levels for a couple of the orders, but the total for the parts needed for the set came to about £16-17 + postage (not including the minifig as I already had that). I'm thinking I might still buy the set at some point (and keep it sealed), then I…

Yes the newer ones are wider. I’m not at home now to check mine, but IIRC, there are 6 studs exposed on either side of a 32x32 plate, leaving a 20 stud wide road section. I think, if I remember right, the oldest ones have 8 studs exposed either side of the road, leaving only a 16 stud wide road section.

I'd most like to see a single building that takes up the full width of a baseplate (32-wide or 16-wide). I don't like the trend of smaller, interconnected buildings that can't be rearranged. As for theme: Antique Shop Art Gallery Diner Gaming Shop Hardware Shop Ice Cream Shop Jewelry Shop Post Office Used Book Shop

Additional note: It suppose to come with a storage bin. Not sure about its actual size, but a pack of 6 of the largest bins is $108. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Education-Storage-Blue-16-5/dp/B0085Y3LKE/ref=sr_1_49?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1383858628&sr=1-49 If it's the same bin, I guess it could be consider an $18 bonus...…

They are excellent sellers when parted out. The baseplates and the dark tan parts sell well at good prices. Pile 16 baseplates in the original box and sell it as a lot. You can also count the number of dark tan parts in the larger bags, fit 4 bags into a box, and sell them as a job lot. Keep the little bags sealed and sell…

I just got back from a local TRU and they had a 2 day sale here, July 27-28: get 5891 Apple Tree House for 37.49. While they have it listed at 25% their overpriced cost, it is still 16% off MSRP price. Again, these 2 days only, but I am not sure if this a nationwide sale or not. edit: Looks like it's online as well, here.

Here in Michigan, Macomb County, an 800,000 pop. suburban county north county of Detroit (where I live)... we started using roundabouts as the first in the state to do so about 16 years ago... and people either love them or hate time. But since I've driven in England.... I love them... ;-)…

I know a little bit about magic and pokemon. Not a bad shout on magic, but no real sign of that yet. Pokemon I doubt as prices never went as crazy as some magic cards. New boxes and cards often stay pretty darn reasonable for years. I can buy a 16 year old box of team rocket for not much more than a current UCS set.
