(If this is too basic, let me know. I did some searching, but didn't find much...) I am looking for basic info on Train Power Functions #88002. I bought it and the battery box #8881 to power my Lone Ranger Constitution #79111, so I can mod it and turn it into a Christmas train! Tonight I did a test run, without regard to…

I just powered my Maersk engine (#10219) with the Power Functions Train Motor (#88002) as described in the instructions. Turns out that it's not a very powerful motor and can barely pull another unpowered engine + 4 cars around the track. My Emerald Night has much better pulling power with the #8882 XL Motor. Anyway, has…

Hi everyone, I'm new here so apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I recently purchased the Horizon Express set (10233). I was just wondering exactly what pieces I need to enable to power functions for it? The box says I need 8878, 8887, 8884, 8879, 88002 and 8870. Are all of these sets essential to get it…

#5001925 Horizon Express Kit is currently on sale at the official Lego shop, €234.49 down from €246.93 (this seems an odd RRP). Haven't seen this set on sale here in Belgium before, and I've never seen it on eBay or Amazon UK/FR either. http://shop.lego.com/en-BE/Horizon-Express-Kit-5001925 Edit: I see what they've done,…

I want to use the wheels from a Duplo 4x6 train car on a PF Train Motor (88002). I realize I will have to modify the wheels and probably do so in a fashion that doesn't allow me to reassemble this car, but I'd still like to try to get it apart without permanently destroying it if it possible...otherwise, I'll just take a…

Anyone tell me exactly what I need to motorise the winter train 10264. On the instructions it says to get 8884, 88000, 88002 and 8879. I know these are retired but I’m not sure which to get. I’m not sure which is which. I’m not bothered about the remote as I think you can use an iPhone to control, even then as long as it…

Having recently picked up a couple of Maersk trains, I've been looking into motorising them. Given they've only just been released, I was surprised to find that the recommended rechargeable battery box (#8878) is shown on shop@home as being 'sold out' (not even on back order), and the recommended motor (#88002) as 'call…

I have my eye on a couple LEGO train sets, but I want it to be motorized and preferably with remote speed control. What parts do you recommend? So far, my list includes the following: * LEGO Power Functions Train Motor 88002 * #8879 Functions Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control 8879 * #7499 Flexible Tracks But what…

You can probably make it work but you'd be better off just buying 88002. Look at book 2 pages 46-56 of the instructions.
