    I've been a avid Lego collector my whole life because it's one of my most favorite things to do. It's funny because I'll have family members, friends, and my girlfriend ask me why I'm in to Lego so much and the only thing I can say to them is that I just am. There's nothing like having Lego pieces all over the ground with a good t.v. show or movie on. I could build for hours!

    The only thing that I would regret about my Lego collection is not having three sets from the greatest films of all time:

    -Venice Canal Chase 7197 (http://www.brickset.com/search/?query=indiana jones)
    -The Temple of Doom 7199 (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7199-1)
    -Fighter Plane Attack 7198 (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7198-1)

    I missed these sets because I went on a religious mission for two years of my life from mid 2009 to mid 2011 and stores weren't selling them anymore. I do not regret this mission in any way at all. In fact, it was by far the best two years of my life. But man, I wish I had those sets...

    Packed away UCS R2-D2 today to finish storing my Lego as we get ready to move to Cameroon in a couple weeks. Only stuff we have room to take is Duplo for the kids and my Chewbacca keyring. No one I know appreciates how sad this makes me so I am lamenting here.

    My status: with some sound advice from @BrickDancer, I've just finished my first Bricklink project. Except I think I was too stupid to follow all instructions to the letter, so they were sort of fused with my own winging methods.

    The project was #7888 Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise. Only my interest was solely on the Tumbler - had no real interest in the Joker's truck or the minifigures. So I painstakingly separated the pieces between the two vehicles (by going through the instructions online, step-by-step) and editing my wanted list on BL accordingly.

    If anyone is interested in the stats, the Tumbler comprises 312 pieces in the set; I had 77 in existing inventory, and bought the other 235 from 5 sellers (91lots). The pieces came to €24, while shipping was €19.28. I'm happy enough with that, I really wanted the vehicle. I've decided against the stickers; they're far more than what I'd pay even if they were needed, but the Tumbler just doesn't need them IMO.

    ^I'm so happy to hear the success @Steve_J_OM! I think you'll really enjoy that little onyx gem once all the pieces arrive. It's a solid built rolling stealth tank, well designed. And you did it for a low sum as well, gratz!

    ^I don't think so, but it was a close call. My sorting table is mahogany, so it would be hard to see. But as soon as I put palm to pate and it came back gruesome I left my throne and wobbled upstairs. I was about to begin piecing together #7094 King's Castle Siege and #10174 from a bulk lot once I finished sorting the last few pounds, so not being able to right then just added insult to injury.

    @Brickarmor I did the same thing at my parents house (too many years ago to count) after living there for 8 years I came bounding down the stairs (6'4 gangly teenager) and plowed the top of my head into the ceiling. No blood, just a good lump.

    For me this is not the season to be messing with Lego, so its all packed away and I'm trying to get out and do other stuff.

    Digging the duplo though with my son :o)

    ^"No brainer" pun intended? Nice. Subtle, not too heavy-handed... The head wound has had one wonderful side effect: exempting me from all yard work and home repairs. Spent today "recuperating" with my son: sorting bricks and wedges, playing with Nebula Outpost, sorting plates and wedges, board games, sorting 1x and 2x slopes. I'll have orange streaks in my hair now from all the peroxide.

    Feeling more like a collector than a builder lately. Build pile is huge right now with some of the biggest sets ever. Yet, spending more time buying instead of building. Additions to the pile today:

    #10026 - UCS Naboo Starfighter NISB
    #10177 - Boeing Dreamliner 747 NIB

    Also today narrowly missed winning a #10134 - UCS Y-wing NISB

    Torn! Do I buy the #7191 or SDCC Batman 2011? Oh the decisions! I told myself no money out of my pocket, just use the money that comes in from selling my sets. Ugh!

    Off to chew on tinfoil, I will get more joy out of that than thinking about this...

    Lego store - all six summer Friends sets that were in, then arrived home and the 30201 Ghost and Grandfather Clock plus two Duplo Promo Bricks (BL Order) and the order from Target on line with my MF Zombies, Swamp Creature, and City Police Minifigs had arrived! Oh, and hubby got the new Technic Helicopter at the Lego Store.

    You'd have to experience Argos to know what it's like. It's a quintessentially British thing - lots of waiting in queues (lines) after filling out (in triplicate) forms, etc ... or it was when I last used it 16 years ago!

    I (heart) the above 4 posts. Very droll. Do they serve you tea in the queue? Beans and toast?

    I too am Brickblocked: no more buying whatsoever... No paychecks in summer makes the decision a bit easier to abide. The Queen (i.e. Wife) might relent if Target comes through, but I doubt it.

    Generally you get served misery in the queues. But at the moment, you get an array of furry Wenlock & Mandevilles (those Olympic one-eyed nobs) staring angrily at you, perhaps in an attempt to scare you into forking out £19.99 for one.

    @brickarmour, @LostInTranslation is right! Tesco is more the UK Lego Lottery. The best way I can describe Argos is the catalogue-only shopping experience of Sears, but on steroids. Unfortunately I don't think they do the shipping across the pond thing, but you do have Wal-Mart and Target sales!

    Also, picked up 3847 Magma Monster game for £3.99 and finally finished off getting all the Olympic minifigs.

    Suddenly craving some Classic Space minifigures. I was not fortunate enough to be born in the CS era so now I want one of each spacemen in each colour.

    I believe it was the Bricktober 2011 magnet I found a TRU last week that sparked this craving...

    Anyone have the reissued versions of the spacemen (in all 5 colours) that you might be able to part with?

    I know that the blue one comes with the new minifigure presentation boxes, do any other recent sets have a spaceman in them?

    Status: moved into a new house this week with my wife and two boys - from a 2 bedroom condo; I now have a 'man-cave' AND a separate LEGO room! Looking forward to sorting LEGO and lots of building over the coming years!

    So much in queue for building, with Taj only 25% finished. But itching to crack open Tower Bridge to commemorate the Games.

    Consolation of being at the office on a beautiful Friday afternoon is still being able to use Ebay. Thus #10030 UCS ISD has been added to the stable for reasonable price of 2xRRP. Now need only #6211 to complete the 'micro-mini-midi-maxi-ultimate' theme for ISD.

    Only 2 more UCS to go...

    I got it. Much more human and humourous than Beijing, less 'spectacular'. Great show. And I saw it in 3D which definitely ramped up the pleasure!

    Just went to my local Lego store today and bought #9496 Desert Skiff. Very cool set, and the minifigs are top-notch. Can't wait to buy Jabba's Palace!
