^still on amazon.it where its always been cheapest

I need to grab another one of those. I like to have at least 2 of everything. Even if most if us have several copies of IS, I'm sure it will still do well in the aftermarket even if there are several copies floating around. "I'm flying casual"

Somewhat relevant, I frequent two LEGO Stores - Glendale and Disneyland. They cannot keep Monsters Fighters and Friends in stock, ever (and keep in mind that we are talking about the Disneyland store, arguably the flagship store that always has everything and then some in plenty stock), while LoTR sets pile up and gather dust.

See what a little originality can do? No need for licensing the farm - good detail, story and value, which Friends and Monster Fighters have, beats an obscure (and, yes, LOTR is obscure to today's children) franchise.

Monster Fighters, IMO, is the best non-core theme to come from LEGO since its first non-core product, Aquazone. Glad I picked up the castle when it first came out - I haven't seen one at a LEGO Store in at least a month, and Targets are sold out everywhere, too.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ They seemingly are restocking the castles fast enough. Might be a good idea to pick one up for Halloween although the Haunted House may take some steam off.

I have noticed too, that all the local Lego stores have been keeping a very low inventory of Friends. Mission Viejo up through Ontario anyway . . .
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ Yep, my store (Indianapolis) had only one Friends set (music studio one), plus the picture frame. They said they were getting only one more set this week. Nothing else planned. New Friends wave would be coming in toward the end of the month.

10212 has changed to "Call to check product availability" once added to cart at S@H in the USA. It might pay to pick one up at target.com if you want this set. Given the recent sales I am guessing it is headed for EOL to make way for the B-Wing very shortly.

And like many other sets that change to this status throughout the year, it will likely be back on LEGO.com within a week or two.

I only trust something is retired, when I get this on S@H....

Sorry, we did not find results for XXXX.

    Suggestions

Make sure all words are spelled correctly
Try different keywords or more general keywords
Use only one or two words

^Same here. Then follows the thought "Darn it, I should've bought more of those...."
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
I am going to buy one from Target tonight o think.
  • timinchicagotiminchicago Member Posts: 239
Has anyone tried calling S@H for availability? I have been fooled by this set going EOL more than once :)
  • UKtsumiUKtsumi Member Posts: 630
minecraft now OOS till November in the UK.. I was going to send mine back but the prices are still really high on ebay/amazon.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Note on the IS, FAO has some for $259 with free shipping on eBay. Better deal than paying tax at Target or even in a brand store, pending where you're located.
  • timinchicagotiminchicago Member Posts: 239
OK so I called S@H about the 10212 and the rep said they have a "handful" left in the USA, specifically 20. I also asked about future availability and she said that all signs point to it going out of stock but there was no definitive information one way or the other.
  • FatMattFatMatt Member Posts: 502

^ The reps don't really have any affirmative info as to whether there will be more made or not. Ask five different reps the same question, and you would probably get five different answers.

I wish I had a time machine to go back to May 4th =(
  • FatMattFatMatt Member Posts: 502
^Why, there will be another in 10 months. :)
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^If IS is really going, that was the best deal in a while. My consolation would be the single personal copy I got for myself (at $180) as a paranoid precaution. But none for future resell as I was holding my breath it wouldn't go until after BF. =(
  • FatMattFatMatt Member Posts: 502
^I wouldn't be surprised if it does come back, so you may still get a shot at BF.

^I sure hope so, its a guaranteed winner. *shaking dice* No snake eyes!

But if it doesn't, I would like to quote the car's owner: "NNnnooooooo!!!!"

@BoiseState- Don't get your hopes up.. there's still 24 hours left.
Would've helped me if you had put some more keywords in the title besides just "Lego Arc-170 Starfither 8088", I'll say that much..........
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
But I also only charged 5 bucks for shipping.. I figured that might get some bites, considering I'll lose money on that.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,505
@BoiseState- It's ok, either way, I'll still end up with a free minifigure. Because it will surpass $25 ;-)
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Yep, I too have been "burned" before on the panic of thinking something was going to EOL, and then... didn't. And still hasn't.

I have two Imperial Shuttles. Sure, it would be nice to have a third or fourth (or fifth), but I won't wake up with cold sweats if it EOL'd and I was left with merely two of them. Nice ship, one of the prettier UCS sets.
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
And it mysteriously jumps to $26 two minutes after that previous post :). Your bronze Boba is on it's way.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,505
^Good, the bid I made went through. Just kidding... funny though how that worked, like you said, two minutes after I posted the above message.

Anyway, don't worry about it. Keep the figure, and the extra cash you're going to gain from this set. ;-)
  • FatMattFatMatt Member Posts: 502
^&^^Free advertising. What did you expect.:)
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
No way man.. I'll never reneg on a bet. Besides, it made things interesting and I have tons of minifigs. If you're lucky, you might even get a super duper rare Mandalorian from a battle pack. J/k, I have a good one in mind. Not super expensive, but somewhat unique.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,505
    ^Alright, if you say so.
    *Gasp.. a Mandalorian? Day=Made.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
I think it's funny that a tiny little Easter chicken set sold out WAY before any of the Hero Factory sets did on S@H. Those will be there forever.
  • MorkManMorkMan Member Posts: 919
@boisestate and @samiam391. Please let us know the minifig via a photo when it is ll said nd done!
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Will do.. Some poor sap paid $42 for 8088. I'd let the minfigure be known now if it's cool with Sam.. Unless he wants to be surprised.

^Let's go with surprise! I'll post a photo on here when I get it.

It's been hinted I'll be getting a bronze boba... fingers crossed. ;-)

Looks like 10193 MMV is about to go EOL very soon as well. I don't show it instock anywhere online in the USA and it is backordered at S@H.
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Sounds good! Shipping tomorrow, not sure how long snail mail takes from Idaho to your hometown.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,505
If you ship tomorrow then should be here by Friday-Saturday. Probably Saturday knowing USPS.

Good thing I just got mine then (Europe, though), build scheduled for tomorrow!
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Regarding MMV, I'll believe it when I see it. That set has had more lives than Jason Voorhees.
  • BanditBandit Member Posts: 889
^ if it's on backorder at S@H, it makes sense it's not available anywhere else, either. Once S@H gets a new shipment, so will everyone else...
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
I agree that MMV has more lives than most sets I have seen, it just won't EOL. But guaranteed, when it does - FINALLY - there will be immediate cries by some that they "missed out" on it. I've lost count of how many I have - maybe 5? It's such a nice little, and has so much play value with other themes, such as Lord of the Rings, Harry potter, etc. You could easily build a few and create Hogsmeade or that town in LOTR where they found Strider.

^The inn is the Prancing Pony =)
  • doriansdaddoriansdad Member Posts: 1,337
^^ Yep just trying to give a heads up on some nice sets when I think they are going EOL. It would not surprise me if 10193 is missing in the next catalog...you have been warned :)
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
    MMV

Even "semi" EOL'd with it's delayed shipping date, they are selling for up to $145 (free shipping) on eBay. However, sooooooo many people have bought a few, I think this set stays under $200 for quite a long time. If you're looking to triple your money - it's gonna be a long time for this set.

So, if you are willing to provide such info. :-) How many MMV's do you have?

I'll start. I have 4. And, for me that is a lot. :-) I think the Excavator will do better than the MMV, so I have more of them than the MMV. Also, they were easier for me to snag at TRU during the BOGO sales.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
    2. Not including one I built. It was such a fun set to build. Except that tree - a poor design.
  • 111ins111ins Member Posts: 265
For those that have built both the excavator and the unimog, what would you say is the better set? Cheaper parts in the unimog but the excavator has a bit better rating....
get a few excavators now and unimog later? or will the unimog be gone soon as it is an exclusive...

    thoughts?

Wow. The tree is my favorite piece of the set.
