Great price, but still don't understand. Will this work for my Maersk train?

It's probably going to be discontinued so they're trying to get rid of their inventory. This is what they you should but to motorized your trains:

I know nothing of trains or lego power functions, I jsut saw them and figured I'd share.

Can't remember if this works with Maersk or not but the main difference between this and the other version is the other version has the cable built in which means you dont end up with the 2x2 2 plate high connector. Depending on the train you're trying to use them in it might not fit correctly, so for a MOC you can build around that but for certain trains with the frame already with a cutout for the motor they dont work properly and you need the one with the cable attached. The Maersk train tells you which one you need in the back so I'd go with what it specifies to make it easier.

You can probably make it work but you'd be better off just buying 88002. Look at book 2 pages 46-56 of the instructions.

There's other stuff on discount at S@H as well. The fairytale minifigs are 50% off (hopefully I can get to the store and order with free shipping before they're gone). Some PotC and Alien Conquest discounted as well.

Thanks! It is too bad they don't see train accessories in-store.

Yes, but I am sure that is a space issue...

They will be happy to order them for you and the shipping becomes free.

I forgot they do the free shipping thing! Thanks for the heads up. :D

@LegoFanTexas Wait, how do you go about asking to order products not available in-store? What if they just tell you to go home and order it?

It is company policy to do it, the store just places the order for you on S@H like you would, they have a store specific promo code that gives the store credit for the sale, and free shipping.

Lot of Hero Factory and Alien Conquest and a smattering of other things on sale now too

Just a heads up for people that are considering this motor. If I rememeber correctly this was the first RC train motor and was notoriously under powered for trains, that's why they came out with the 88002 motor.

Note that I believe the official "policy" is if the store is out-of-stock on the item you want, then they will place an on-line order for you, which includes free shipping. I only say this because once I asked for them to order the Helm's Deep set for me when it first came out, because they didn't have it in the store yet. The associate claimed they couldn't provide the free shipping option on that set, because the store never had it "in stock" to begin with. Of course, like a lot of things in these stores, YMMV, because I've had them order on-line only items before, like the MBA subscriptions, and received the free shipping.

Yes, this train motor was really meant for the older 9v systems, it says so right in the description. It can be used with PF, but only with an adapter cable.

I agree, my local store is happy to order anything for me free shipping, even stuff they don't have, except for MBA subscriptions, they wouldn't do those. :)

Oh well, I got my MBA on May 4th, so it doesn't really matter.

Lego has a bunch of sets on sale at S@H. Looks like most of the Hero factory line, Alien Conquest and the rest of PoTC.

I ordered what Monster Fighters set I didn't have through the store yesterday with the free shipping as they were OOS.

If anyone wanted the Lego harry potter years 5-7 for ps3 or polybags #40030 / #40031 (easter polys for $2.48) my local store had plenty of all three.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
Not rest of PoTC.. Only The Mill and The London Escape, for about 20% off.
But with the shipping and tax you are not saving a lot.
BUT they are on sale at the LEGO stores as well.
London Escape is for call for product availability and Alien Mothership is sold out.

I was almost going to get the entire 2012 Hero Factory line for my son but after shipping and taxes, it was pretty much the same price as Amazon with Prime. I think S@H should have more Free Shipping Promos, even with a spending threshold. I tell them this in every survey they send me. End rant.

Man, my brand store almost never has stuff on clearance. It's in a ritzy part of town. Anything put on clearance there gets zapped by the lucky customers who walks in next.

Hate paying for shipping on tiny clearance stuff, but I bundled some sets I was waiting on to make it worthwhile.

Yesterday I ordered a bunch of Power Functions stuff for a train set from Lego Shop at Home (USA website) and as I put each item in my shopping cart, a new sale price magically appeared in red.

Every single item I ordered was discounted by some amount. It varied from $1.50 or so up to $5.00 off for the rechargeable battery box.

The weird thing is there is no mention of these items being discounted right now.

I am not sure if I recieved some sort of automatic discount because I pretty much bought one of everything in the Power Functions lineup for a train, or what.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

If you need more P/F bits for your train stash, you might want to buy them now! It's at least worth testing to see if the discounts apply when you place the item in your shopping cart.

The discounts were minimal on most items, but it all added up and every little bit helps.

Yes, I too noticed something like this a while back, like around May 4... Each motor part you add after a certain amount takes a percentage off. A quiet little "thank you" I guess. It did not seem to apply to any other items, however.

I think they had this a year ago, at least that is when I noticed it.
