  @mrseatle: it is indeed supposed to light up - it is a light and sound brick from the Jack Stone-days, more specifically set 4621 Red Flash Station.
  
  There are two small light bulbs at the top - mine gives of a faint orange glow, while the sound rises and falls a few times. Perhaps your is even lower on batteries?

  The head seems to be Yoda, but not sure why it is baby blue in colour. I do see some sand green under his eyes, so it may just be scratched off.

  It's definitely blue and it has an extra piece jutting out on top. I was thinking it was a hologram type piece but couldn't find any sets that had that

  That'd be awesome if it was. It came in a huge lot of very mixed items- old castle sets, the jawa sand crawler to more recent sets like Indiana jones and Harry potter. I haven't found anything else unusual though

  So I think I figured out part of the mystery on my Yoda head- it appears to be from the pen. Still doesn't explain the blue- has anyone seen discoloration like this on theirs? Also, if anyone owns the pen can you tell me if the body and legs separate or are they one solid piece?

  Any ideas where these are from? they have lego on the back of there legs and the bag i bought has what looks like very old lego.

  @crusher1976 - those are Fabuland-figures, Fabuland was a hugely popular theme for the younger-LEGO-builders back in the 1980's - check out all the sets of the Fabuland theme.
  
  I can't tell you exactly which sets they are from, but take a look yourself - maybe you'll have a complete set somewhere - they can sometimes be worth quite a bit.

  I got the remnants of several Lego sets offered at a garage sale on Friday. One of the things that I picked up was a large brown rock figure with a right arm that swings. I can't find it in the Power Miner sets and those look more detailed anyway. Any thoughts on what set this might belong to?

  ^^ I don't recognise the piece on the left, so will have to look into it.
  It looks like it forms part of a larger piece, rather than something that is normally separate.
  The piece on the right is a train coupling, designed to hold a magnet.

  I just bought a large bin last weekend and am trying to identify the more unique pieces and minifigures. I'm not sure if the heads are with the right bodies of legs. I was hoping since you guys seem to all be experts on here if you could give me any insight on what I have here. What I do know is the person selling was 16yrs old and seem to be collecting 99'-01'-ish. I labeled them to make it easier to determine which part you know something about.   @Maesterjay for future reference, on bricklink dot com you can go to catalog tab, then parts, then type in Torso and hit the search button and you can find pics of all torsos then choose the one you're looking for and find all the minifigs that have used that torso and you'll be able to find which heads and legs were used with that torso as well as which sets they were used in.

I have all these random parts from grab bags, old sets of my own, and old sets I picked up/received/randomly came upon and was at a loss of how to find out what they were from. Now I have learned how to do it on my own! Thank you all of you who've identified parts for me and/or who've taught me how to do it on my own.

  @Maesterjay, you're very welcome, I learned it myself from one of our members here not all that long ago, may have been LegobrandonCP. Most everyone here is helpful. I spent the day sorting out parts for Fort Legoredo from a bin of about 25 lbs of bulk. Have 9 of the 10 minifigs, and most of the easily recognizable parts corralled so tomorrow I can pull the remaining parts if all the log walls are there.

  Heh - I actually answered that at the very top of this page :)
  It is a Light & Sound Brick from Jack Stone - used in the 4611 Police HQ set.
  
  You can always search Bricklink for "Light Sound" to find all those bricks that creates either light and/or sound.

  Thanks to you Identiyfing the part i put on here i found almost all the parts and have now built the Imperial AT-ST 7127-1.I am just missing the two dark grey road signs that are used on the tops of the legs.Does any body know a website (preferbly british)where i can hold of parts like this?
