built the camper with my father in law. He asked me if he could help! made us go to toys r us so he could buy something himself, but they didn't have anything interesting. Think he'll be putting in a [email protected] order soon :)

Just re-built 4998 into the T-rex model. This was the set that brought me out of my dark ages - my girlfriend didn't realise what it would lead to when she bought it for my birthday!

almost done sorting through 5 helms deeps, 7 morias, 4 weathertops, 10 uruk-hai army, and 4 or 5 each shelob/gandalf. oh, and only 1 of the orc forge.

Yes, there's a castle Moc in my future...

I had considering doing 4x Helm's deep just to see what I could do with it (4 full sides). before I make a serious Moc. But in cursory study, I think the only really result will be a wall that looking stunningly short for it's relative length. I still might mess around a bit with it though, who knows

Score! Bulk Lego at $2.80/lb for about 50 lbs. Sweet deal! Not too many minifigs found so far but there is still a lot to sort. Got the Frankenstein from set 1382-1 so if there were no other figs I'd be happy, but there is at least a few others, including an indian.

Now this is REALLY bad. I've just got a box in the post with a used Prince of Persia Battle of Alamut in it, and I have no idea where it's from! Will have to check through my bricklink and ebay history to see if I ordered something and forgot. How bad is that!
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Got over 4,000 pieces (~70%) of the Taj down, ready to sprint to the finish line!

Second thoughts on BL Project #5: UCS MF =(

My local Lego store in Cincinnati finally got the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape back in(They've had it at the local Toys R Us, but I didn't want to pay the 20% price gouge). Bought, opened, built, admiring. This is the set that the Hulk's Helicarrier set could only aspire to be. I love it. I need another bookshelf!

Made a return to my typography experiments after a long break. Added a serif to an L and surrounded it with SNOT. 90% happy with the results :0)

Went to the Tigard, Lego Store to take a look at the R2-D2 and Sopwith Camel. The former was large and might actually be the only Star Wars set on my "I might buy this" list. The latter, however, was smaller than I expected, but a must have. It did look worth $99.99.

Grinning from ear to ear . . . Won't double post here but check out my post in the "Brag" thread on getting Lego for $.003 per piece. Next up is building these sets to be sure they are complete.

Sopwith delivered today, built and flown around the house. Needs and enemy plane!

Spent a good couple of hours working on a MoC, couldn't get a couple of points to join succesfully, tried and it broke up in my hands, tried again - broke, tried again - broke, tried again - broke, threw the whole thing into a plastic crate in my anger, breaking it ALOT and quit!
This morning, looking at it logically it is clearly a design flaw, but last night it was definitely the bricks at fault!

I'm watching a live stream from some customer research my company is doing...had to laugh when the guy being interviewed mentioned a trip to LLW.

Building a little office/woodworking shop for a customer in the states (with custom woodworker/computer programmer) :)

@matthew - and you need to pay me for the Harry Potter torsos I made you...

I recieved my first UCS set, Imperial Shuttle. The Amazon.it price was too tempting.

I am trying to get some of the old Castle- Fantasy Era sets! Missed them due to my dark ages =(

Also, working on a 24-wide, 3 story MOC house. First floor is going to be made with 1x2 plates. I love the look of them stacked together.

Miffed with Lego Replacement Parts dept =(

Called to order some parts for 10189 and was told the limit is now 10 items (Strike 1). Stated its for Taj Mahal 10189 and started with first piece by giving Element # and Part Name. Was told I need the exact part number, element & part name is not enough (Strike 2). Stated I do not have the instructions in front of me, and asked if they can please pull up the set and match the part. Was told no, they aren't able to do that (Strike 3).

    "Thanks for your time" :Click:

^ They can usually order based on bricklink part numbers, which are easy to get hold of.
  • MinifigsMeMinifigsMe Member Posts: 2,844
Here we go, not quite finished, needs a computer screen, and of course a programmer and the same guy is his wood working clothes. Hope they like it, it's just out of what I've got lying around.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^^Si, I had those handy and gave it to him for the first part. That's when he said no-go, even though I told him it was the Design ID even. I was quite steamed so sat down this past hour and got all the needed part numbers, only 17 types. So was unhappy with how unhelpful they were this time. Called RP dept. 2 other times for CC & GG and ordered a lot without problems. Seems they changed procedures recently with the new 10 item max limit. Will try again in an hour with the part #'s and see how it goes.

@littletoki it truly was. I even asked the young man if I misunderstood and he said no. I have reason to believe he is an international student returning home for the summer.

Today my Lego mood is bleary eyed from being up too late.

Called Replacement Parts Dept. again and got a nice and helpful rep this time. She stated the limit is indeed 10 max but will make an exception for me this time. Went perfectly well and got the remaining pieces needed. So excellent this time around.

BL Project #4: Taj Mahal is now fully purchased, with all new parts to make it 100% complete with instructions (only missing box now). Total cost in parts was $540 with various shipping, tax, fees adding another $85 for a grand total of $625.

Buildings made of stacked 1x2 plates look really good. I did that once on a much smaller scale, I think that it was roughly two 8x16 stories, with the top having a slight overhang. Please post your MOC here on the forum when you finish it! :)

^^ Weird. I called to buy an additional bag 6 for 4841 (passenger car bag), they said they can't sell me the actual bag, but put all the parts through separately...

Will do man!! I think just the first floor is going to be made with 1x2 plates. So far it seems like a huge project haha the 2nd/3rd floor will most likely be made with bricks, if it looks good together.

Its going to be a good weekend of lego. Son's birthday today - so thats a Police Station, Bank and Money Transfer, T-Rex Hunter and Dino Defense HQ to make with him and possibly more. Then on sunday I'm getting my QAR for fathers day. Can't wait, and glad for the rubbish weather!

Yeah, it's quite hard, especially if you try to do it in a color that you don't have tons of. The end result is worth it, though! Looking forward to seeing yours! :D
