Local Fred Meyer had 15% off of all LOTR sets. Not much to brag about, but new sets usually aren't on sale that fast. It's a Memorial Weekend sale, over Monday.

Managed to get two 10022 Santa Fe Super Chief sets for $295 each and another for $237. All mint in sealed boxes. The recent Bricklink average is $345, so I'm feeling pretty good about these three purchases... except for the fact that I really can't afford any of them at the moment. Oops.

So happy I finally get to post here - great haul yesterday at a local K-Mart. Picked up the Alien Conquest Mothership for $22.50, Geonosian Fighter for $11.00, and my daughter surprised me with an early Father's Day Present - the absolutely beautiful Queen Anne's Revenge!
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
You'll love QAR. One of my favorite builds.

@BoiseState, it's by far my favorite as well. Absolutely massive and very well detailed!

    Geonosian Fighter for $11.00
Do you know if this is a memorial day weekend sale only, or on clearance where it will still be $11.00 tomorrow?
I found a store with them but dont know if i can go today.

James in the Uk is a very very happy Bricksetter. Looky what turned up at the office this morning.

@zjygkmatt, I believe this is a weekend sale, but even if you don't get the 50% off clearance, I think they are still $22.00.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
@zjygkmatt As long as the store has them, you can place an order online and have it as an in-store pickup, which means you can grab it today at $11 and can pick it up tomorrow or Wednesday.

Where did you get it from?

  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
An Ebayer in NY. He's registered on the main site but has yet to say hello in the forum. Very lucky to have secured this baby.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
    How much then?
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827

Scored many PoTC and AC sets with that K-mart clearance; then on my way home tonight I stopped by Wal-mart for some bread - and found a QAR on clearance for $79 - so I picked that up as well. The wife asked for bread, I came home with bread . . . and a pirate ship!
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
GGrrrr I "growling" at you @jlpython lol

I have always hated Kmart, and still do. I drove into my local city which was the only kmart to have them. I grabbed 2, and they wrung up $29.99, I then showed them the page on my droid showing $11.00. They didn't want to help me out in anyway and just said I have to order it offline and have it delivered to get the price. Id rather give my money elsewhere then drive there again to get what they already had in store. Makes zero sense.

hit a 2006 Batman Batcave 7783 at a yard sale with instructions and box for $5 this last weekend. It was cherry mint, so mint that it still had the sticker sheet (missing 3 stickers). Problem, NO MINIFIGS but had batman and robins capes in little cardboard packs.

I just found a Skeleton's Prison Carriage, buy it now for £10 on ebay. Surprised no-one else had picked it up.

9719 Robotics Invention System, Version 1.0 - £45 - set from 1998 and still SEALED!!! from... Cash Generator out of all places!
    2011 LEGO Duck - £60 sealed.

^ had a chance to buy the duck earlier this year but couldn't convince hubby that our collection needed it!

Our find today was set 901 in it's original box in very good condition (1 piece missing) and a shoe box full of vintage Lego for $35 from one CL seller and about 30 lbs of 70's - 80's lego sets along with 10 instruction books and 58 minifigs, for $80 from another CL seller.

Received today the last Classic Castle set I still missed and for a good price including instructions. I paid €21,00 including sending, not bad I think.

Found a sealed Ewok Attack 7956 (Target salvage return) at a Goodwill store for $3.99
I figure it's good for parts and the Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike. The Ewoks? Not my favorite. Any more than $3.99 and I would have passed.

Just ordered an IF 10210 from of all places [email protected] I just called up and asked if they had any left and sure enough they had "one or two" left in the US. I received a confirmation email and will keep my fingers crossed that the order does not get cancelled.
  • mattheww888mattheww888 Member Posts: 87
    @timinchicago,
Did you see the IF listed online or did you call and order?

    ^ WTF??? Wow! Congrats.

I think I should call them up and try for a 10179! Against the odds it may be but you never know! ;-)

Still open, I'll do it now..........
  • timinchicagotiminchicago Member Posts: 239
I just called and ordered. They had to check availability in the US before she would let me place the order. I guess it never hurts to ask!

  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
Just tried to see if they have 10182 or 10185, too bad, they don't!
  • timinchicagotiminchicago Member Posts: 239
I am somewhat skeptical myself...order still says "Processing" but does include the mini Sopwith Camel too :)
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
CTT for $80, The Mill for $15, four Cannibal Escape for $15 ea, and Freeing Dobby for $4.50. Quite happy with the haul, missed out on the Whitecaps but left a slew of HP Buses and Flo's Cafe.
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
^ are you keeping the "where from" a secret?
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
^Ha, no, just a lapse. It was Wally World, unfortunately. And then today... A beat up Hogwarts Castle for $45 and some Whitecaps for $27 each. This WM was deep in stock a week ago and nothing had moved, so the dept manager was happy to see the space open up. Makes up for the dismal morning of yard sales. At the very first one, about 8:20, I asked the lady if she had any Legos, and of course I "just missed" a bin for $20. Can't win them all, but it'll be a fun night Castle building!
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ Whitecap for $27 is a good price. Still $53 or whatever at the WMs near me. I managed to find one WM on my way back from the Mall of America that had some stuff at ~40% off or more. Got 2 PotC fountains for $7 each, 2 HP buses for $20 each and 2 Hogwarts for $30 each.
