7101 from ebay. MISB, $35, reasonable enough for me seeing them for way more at times. Definitely am thinking of getting this encased or something to keep it safe. Perfect size for a desk display item as well.

It was a couple months ago, a co-worker was cleaning out his garage & found a box of his ex-stepson's LEGO which he gave to me free:

    Pirates Imperial Flagship w/inst.
    Pirates Imperial Outpost
    Scorpion Detector w/ inst.

After building these I had leftover pieces; after checking them on Bricklink I found I also got:

    Rescue Rig
    Patriot Jet

Another co-worker had LEGO from his now grown son, unfortunately his wife was lotting them out on eBay before I got to them. In the leftovers for $30 I got:

    Shark's Crystal Cave
    Solo Sub
    Solar Explorer
    Cosmic Laser Launcher
    Technic Off-Road Vehicle (yellow Jeep)
    Golden Guardian parts
    Gamma-V
    parts/manuals to Robolab #9273
    3 curved roadplates
    unknown small Egypt set parts
Mos Espa Podrace parts (can build Anakin's, others incomplete)
AT-ST Walker (the 'ugly' one) missing Chewbacca minifig
Droid Dropship (round ship drops bombs)

I think thats it, cant recall anymore. Buying that bunch from him effectively doubled what I had from my youth!

@bsiu922 yes, he's stuck with it as far as I'm concerned. Notice the new add with more added, small sets, says may have pieces missing instead of listing the missing pieces.
  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
OK, here's some additions after more thought:

    Deal #1 (free batch)
    1906 Majisto's Tower +inst (missing spiral stairs)
    2161 Aqua Dozer

    Deal #2 ($30)
    1906 Majisto's Tower (partial)
    5925 Pontoon PLane
    6373 Motocycle Shop (partial)
    1499 Twin Starfire
    3438 McDonalds promo (partial)
    4920 Rapid Rider
    6445 Emergency Evac
    6524 Blizzard Blazer
    6775 Alpha Team Bomb Squad

@AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz should flag his post out. and I hate people not put price on CL!

I didnt even bother to email him again. may be another week. and shot him an offer for 200!

Went to Wal-Mart earlier tonight to buy the series two planet sets I saw thee earlier this week, and they were gone... I guess they had accidentally put them out early and corrected their mistake.

They did have poly-bags marked down to $1 though. So I bought ten... Got 2 STAP, 3 mini ties, 2 mini venators, and a few friends bags. I left a few friends on the shelf but got all the SW polys they had.
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
    ^ which friends polys?
  • PlaugePlauge Member Posts: 39
I found the Hawkeye polybag in a Donald Duck magazine here in norway and as well the train crossing 7936 at a shop for Nok199.- (ca. 26€).

Was temted to buy the emerald night as well, but I could not defend the price at Nok1200,- (160€).

They even had the green grocer but that was way to overpried at Nok6000,-(790€).
  • PlaugePlauge Member Posts: 39
Have to add one more.. The 8403 City house for Nok 224,- (ca. 30€)

I recently (today) found that if you're my age and try to build a death star in one day, you have to quit after 9.5 hours with a headache, roughly 3/4 through...

Ok, probably not the finding this thread discusses. ;)
  • mattheww888mattheww888 Member Posts: 87
    @mressin,
Yeah, same here. Tried to build the SSD in one day, but at 2:30 in the morning, I suddenly stopped caring.

    Destiny's Bounty 40% off @ B&N. Woot!
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@Brickarmor I'm searching but can't find that one on their website, can you provide a link?
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
    ^ Here's a link: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/toys-games-lego-destinys-bounty-9446/23832946

Doesn't appear to be in stock. I assume he used a coupon in-store to get 40% off.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Thanks for the link @mathew. Looks like you might be right for in-store only. Funny thing is that when I searched for just "Lego", this set was not included on the list for some reason.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
Apologies if I gave the impression it was an ongoing sale. Alas, no, Matthew is correct. Coupon, membership, and luck.
  • mrseatlemrseatle Member Posts: 410
The $1 friends polys were two 30105 and one with the little white car.

Had to take my mom over there (wal-mart) today, and they didn't have any more. They've got a bunch of sets "on clearance" at regular price though.

This is a bit of a gem, boxed and what looks complete 4558 Metroliner Train set at the car boot sale this morning...... £2 BAM. Makes chasing around WH Smiths this morning for Batman Promos not so hard with a find like that.

Nice yardsale pickup this morning. Bag of misc parts for $5 which included 6 complete minifigures (weightlifter, mime, jack sparrow, adventurer, old soldier, and a prince of Persia villain) as well as lots of heads and torsos AND the big score--the republic drop ship for 40. Looks complete but I need to rebuild it first

Picked up a Mindstorms Droid Developer Kit for $1 at a yard sale. Box was opened but all the bags were still sealed. My best find so far.

Ninjago Destiny's Bounty for 50% off, plus I had another 40$ in rewards so I got one for free and another 8 for cheap.

^ How'd you swing that?! Or where?
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
But to follow up with my own win today... Out with the family and dogs, hiking the mountains, swimming under waterfalls, 80 degrees and clear, very idyllic day, my 6 yr old talking about how much fun and how perfect it all is, I reply, "Yep, only way to make it better would be 25 pounds of Legos!" He thinks I'm just playing around.... until....

The wife surprised me too by letting us go through with it. My months of Craigslist watching finally paid off! He was asking $125, had two offers for $80 but wouldn't take less than $100. Whatever his two boys are "moving on" to, it worked out quite well for us. Came with about 20 instruction books for mostly small and midsize sets, but of course there are tons of pieces I recognize from other themes. Rather clean, some cat hair, no smoking though. Marginal amount of MegaBlechs. But the kicker is that there are many pieces here I just ordered from BL to complete some Mars sets. Oh well.

    It's gonna be a sort-tacular night!!!!

Fred Meyers. It's a store here in the Pacific Northwest.
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
^ I love Fred Meyers. It is basically the only place I go to get my CMF's. Plus they periodically have 10% off coupons too. I think it is worth the drive from BC to Washington State. :)
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Love Freddies. I used to live in Bellingham, is that the one you go to?
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
Yep. Closest one to the border.
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Small world. Love that part of the world, some of the most beautiful places. Went to college in Bellingham, spent many a weekends across the border.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
The Pacific Northwest is where I hope to go when I die.

Well, those 10 weeks out of the year when it's not raining.

Back to topic, there must be over 100 minifigs in the lot I posted above. Some of them even still have their hands.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ lol. It's pretty funny to see how many minifigures are missing hands when you buy lots like that. Kids must really be into chopping hands off in their play.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
@LegobrandonCP Are you coming down to Lynnwood for the new store opening in Alderwood mall?

Probably not. It is exam week, but I'll be lucky if I don't have any exams on the 22-24th. But I already have the store set so there is literally no point in going. Plus I have to convince my parents to drive me there. But I'll definitely make a trip once the summer is here and I have a lot of free time.
  • BoiseStateBoiseState Member Posts: 804
Really wish we'd get a Lego store in my city.. It's bigger than a number of cities that have them!

I got a Ninjago Garmadon's Dark Fortress (2505) for $17. Appears to be 100% complete with all the minifigs but it appears they used glue on some of the pieces to keep parts of it together. Gonna try to clean it off but don't think its gonna happen.
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
@pvancil27 Yep you gonna be in definite trouble with that find and my boxes I am mailing you lol. Where did you find that awesome deal? CL, garage sale?

I Moderate another board and theres a small section of Star Wars and Lego collectors there, one guy just wanted to move his stuff and gave me that incredible deal. A lot is doubles but there enough I needed that its worth it, and I can always try and flip the sets for others I need.

Sad part, is I also have three orders coming in the mail from Bricklink (sonething like 10 more sets along with a bunch of black parts to make stands) plus a 8098 Clone Turbo Tank I picked up at Wal Mart today. So I have my building materials for the summer. And as I told you, gonna be eating a lot of Ramen and cheap hot dogs.

I'm not sure if this is a good deal or not, but I just took the plunge and bought the Millennium Falcon.

It was £164, but I got a £60 loyalty discout from the catalogue I use, so got it for £104. Cheapest I've really see in anywhere I've been is about £120.

    Hello
First time poster finally able to pick up some LEGO sets on clearance for the first time at my local walmart in Hooksett, NH. Decided to check out my walmart as I always hear about people picking up clearance deals and lo and be hold I finally lucked out.

    Picked up:
    Hogwarts 4842 $89
POTC White Cap Bay 4194 $54
    POTC Queen's Anne Revenge 4195 $79

Other sets on clearance that I can remember:
    Hogwarts 4687 $35
    Hagrid's Hut 4738 $30
    POTC Cannibal Escape 4182 $21
    POTC The Mill 4183 $30

Some of the smaller POTC sets were $7 and there were at least 2 of each left of all the ones I mentioned. Apparently they just went clearance a couple of days so the selection is still good. So if you live nearby head on over.

I had a great find this week. My neighbors are moving and I saw a Lego box in their trash. I took a closer look and saw bricks in the box. It was 4729 Dumbledore's Office with 4702 The Final Challenge stuffed inside. They aren't complete but they have all the minifigures.
  • mattheww888mattheww888 Member Posts: 87
^Wow. Too bad they're not 100%, but it makes me sad to see what people are just throwing away.
  • ErnstErnst Member Posts: 133
Again a good deal on Dutch Marktplaats, the Carribean Clipper in great condition for €60,00 sent home and my second 6034 Black Monarch's Ghost for only €6,50 (love this set because of the Ghost minifigure).

    http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6274-1
    http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6034-1

And today took a good look at the Black Seas Barracuda I got earlier this week, that was not the 6285 but the re-release of this set 10040. The boat is the same of course but harder to find it seems and worth some €30,00 more.
