Am I missing something? That's the regular price for the Helicarrier set. Now if the Quinjet was $49.99, that would be something and a $20 difference from MSRP.

Sorry, didn't realize that. Oh well!

I looked in the add and it also states that other select lego superhero sets will also be on sale.

So, now I'm confused. Is the Helicarrier Breakout set on sale, still? Or is it the Quinjet? Or neither?

The weekly add states the Helicarrier Breakout set is 49.99 and other Lego supper hero sets. This could mean the older DC sets.

Just because something is in the ad, it does not always mean it's on sale ;)

This is more of a "hey kids/parents, if you loved The Avengers then check out this merch" type of thing.

Looks like the online sales are mainly the "big fig" DC sets.

ah the wonders of the english language... on sale can mean two different things. FOR sale at any price / or FOR sale at a discounted priced. around here... we usually think ON sale means at a discount, and this ad certainly should have read FOR sale. :)

...and i did see other avengers sets FOR sale, at MSRP.

With Target (at times) and TRU (all the time) prices, the title of the thread would be BIG news in my area!

@starfire2 - the digs aren't at you, mate. They're at Target and TRU. One can only imagine how many people are paying extra without knowing better. That' s not being dumb, that's just an example of how diligent we have to be to get a fair price.

^ That's true. Target often puts up special price placards that say "As Advertised" and yet if you look behind the placard, the "As Advertised" price is no different than the "Normal" price. They did the same thing here saying this set was $X and that other select Superheroes sets were also on sale. I had to do a doubletake too.

Yeah, it tripped me up on Sunday morning when I saw it in the paper. Target does that all the time with its ad.

I don't think Target ever advertises those as being on sale though. The "as advertised" markers I believe are just meant to help people find the items that were specifically mentioned in the flyer.

Was randomly in Target this afternoon and wandered by the LEGO aisle. They apparently had sold out of the big fig Batman figure that was on sale, so they offered an alternate discount on another set...which just happened to be the Lex Luthor Power Armor set for $16. Already have one, but it's hard to pass up a 20% discount.

That sort of alternative sale item deal is unique to the each store though so most Targets won't be offering that unless of course they are also sold out of the original sale item

Oh yeah, I know it was certainly a YMMV thing.

I don't know how well those big figs sell. I guess Bionicle and Hero Factory have done ok, so they must move enough of them to make it worthwhile.

You just have to go after X'mas. I got the 3221. Yellow truck and 4643 power boat for 17.48 + tax. Also 3180 tanker for 9.98 sometime in fall

FYI I just came back from my local Target (Bay Area, Ca) and they had a mini sale on all things Lego Star Wars and City. It wasn't much, only 5% off on all sets, but I was able to find a Sith Nightspeeder (7957) set for $14.99 AND I also picked up what I was really there to get, Ewok Attavk (7956) which Target usually sells for $5 bucks less anyway, so the 5% off of that price was icing.

I hope things get lower as the Memorial Day weekend continues here in the states. I'll be at a con, so I won't be able to participate unfortunately.

    Pic or it didn't happen:
